What will be included in the exam?

The exam will consist of short answers, fill in the blanks, multiple choice, true/false, and projects.  Required passing score is a minimum of 85.

How long will it take to complete the course?

This will all depend on your prior knowledge and experience in the field.   Estimated time to complete the course is 4 - 6 weeks, but you have one full year from the date of enrollment.

Upon successful completion of the YAFT course, you will receive a certification packet in the mail within 2 weeks of your receiving notification of successful completion.    Course includes a DVD of strength and conditioning games, activities, and printable workouts and forms.  The DVD will be mailed after your certification packet has been sent.

How long will it take for me to know my exam score?

Your exam will be graded within 5 business days. You will then receive an email with your results.  A minimum score of 85 is required on the exam.   Your certification packet will be mailed within 2 weeks after a score of 85 is obtained.

If I do not want to use a credit card or e-check via PayPal, how do I mail my payment?

We accept mailed in orders with a US Postal money order or a business check from United States checking accounts only.   We no longer accept international money orders nor international bank drafts.  Access codes will not be emailed until checks have cleared (usually 5 - 7 business days.)

When you mail your  payment, please include the following information:  your full name, your mailing address, the name of your course, and your e-mail address.   Mailing address is AFTA, P.O. Box 253, Ripley, TN  38063.

Do I have to renew my certification?

Yes, you will renew your certification every two years with approved CECs. Many insurance companies (and fitness centers) are requiring fitness recertifications for continued liability coverage.   Just before the end of your first certification year, please go to www.aftacertification.com/recertification.htm

Do I have to have first aid and/or CPR training for this certification?

AFTA does not require proof of a current first aid/CPR certificate of completion, but your employer will require this. We strongly recommend that all level trainers/instructors are trained in first aid/CPR.

How do I order the course? Do you offer discounts if I have someone who wants to enroll with me?

Yes, we offer discounts for up to 5 partners (total of 6 people) ordering at one time.  Contact AFTA for additional partner prices. One of you will use one credit card to order the partner course.  Each of you can submit your separate exams on the same day or months apart.
